School Improvement Planning

Provide Effective Instruction and Assessment

When we develop our knowledge of differentiated assessment then all students will have varied modes to demonstrate learning and have increased knowledge of their learning progression through assessment as learning and staff will have a better understanding of planning needs.

Staff: When we engage in and apply professional development around racial literacy and anti-oppressive practices then our students will feel Welcome, Worthy and Safe, have increased school engagement and feel a part of an identity affirming space.

Math: Math facilitator will be working with grade 3 and 6 teachers around problem solving skills and communicating thinking

Literacy: MLPS is part of the Early Years Steering Committee.  Will be working with childcare, school staff and the Board on Early Years Learning in the classrooms

Literacy Groups: Look at targeted literacy instruction in small groups (K-8)

Equity and Inclusivity: release time provided for teaching staff to engage in FNMI learning and Identity Affirming Spaces.  Staff created lessons to deliver in classrooms around Treaty Recognition Week and our school touchstone – Welcome, Worthy and Safe
